Hearth and Home Midwifery is a two-midwife group offering Homebirth midwifery services in Gresham, Oregon. The midwives offer holistic, natural care including prenatal care, home birth services, and postpartum care to women and their babies. Hearth and Home Midwifery begins prenatal care to people starting at any point in their pregnancy and follow the standard OB schedule for prenatal visits. If you are dissatisfied with your current care provider, the midwives would be happy to set up a free consultation in our office to discuss transferring care to them, no matter how pregnant you currently are. In midwifery care, there is always a midwife on call 24/7 for any need clients have. Clients can reach a midwife any time for urgent needs, day or night. The midwives offer standard labs, ultrasounds, and prenatal appointments, and when it is time to have your baby, the midwives bring everything that’s needed to your home for a natural birth. Midwives are experts in waterbirth and about half the home births the midwives attend are waterbirths. After your baby is born, a midwife will provide comprehensive in-home appointments four times in the first two weeks. Both midwives are skilled and experienced in offering guidance for breastfeeding, pelvic floor healing, newborn care, and recovery after birth.

The midwifery team consists of Sarah McClure and Charli Zarosinski. Both Sarah and Charli are Certified Professional Midwives through the North American Registry of Midwives. They are licensed to attend births in Oregon and Washington. The model of care of a midwife views pregnancy and birth as natural processes and believes that birth is an opportunity to find the power you already possess, and the midwives feel very strongly that the best way for your family to grow is for you to feel cared for and listened to. It is the job of a midwife to keep you safe and help you make decisions along the way to best support the health and wellness of you and your baby as your family grows.
